A 21-year veteran of the mattress and furniture manufacturing industries, Robert Sabalaskey joined Lilly Management Group in its first year. Before that he had been Vice President of Manufacturing and Research & Development for Serta, joining the company in 1995. During his tenure, Serta became the first U.S. mattress producer to achieve national compliance with the TB603 California mattress flammability regulation. He also earned several U.S. patents for product design and has another patent pending in the fire-retardant (FR) field.
With demonstrated expertise in manufacturing efficiency, product design and value engineering, Mr. Sabalaskey is also well known as a mattress industry expert in fire science. He has been a frequent speaker at FR events sponsored by ISPA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

furniture industry arenas.
